Epiphany with an old Mojo

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a great Thursday.  I had a great morning working on my card.  So great it fact, I had an epiphany!  Don't you just love those!  Today's blog may take a few more minutes than usual, so sit back and stay awhile.  First, here is my card:
This is a birthday card I made for my nephew's fiance.  I was looking through some old mojo sketches and decided on this one.  This is Mojo 99 from 10 August 2009!  Whoa... that was awhile back.  But the sketch is still a great one. And this Mojo is a first for me.
     Recipe:
Paper:    Jersey Shore DSP, retired, Brilliant Blue, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
     Ink:        Brilliant Blue
     Stamps:  Wow Flowers

I don't know about you, but it is rare that I make multiples of any of the cards I make.  They are usually one-a-kind.  And as you may know, that means alot of trial and error getting all your layers just right. (Can we say layers on this sketch!)   Needless to say, I was wasting alot of DSP and card stock attempting to get just the right size.  Soooo, here is my epiphany.  The thought finally occurred to me, "Terri, why don't you use plain old copy paper to work out your templates???"  DUH!  Can I say it again? DUH!   Now some of you may be alot smarter than me and you have already thought of this idea.  Good for you.  I just wish someone had passed it along to me alot sooner! LOL!!  But, if you're like me and have been wasting your valuable card stock, I hope this little bit of insight works for you also!

The other major thing for me today is that I bought a new camera!, YAY!  I still need to work on my lighting, but I think this camera is taking great pictures!

That's all for me tonight!  I hope you have a wonderful evening!

Blessings,

Terri

First Masculine Card (Except Father's Day!)

Hello everyone!  I am very excited about the card I made today.  Except for the card I made for Father's Day (and it was a non-stamp card), this is the first general purpose masculine card I have ever made.  I really like it!

My brother-in-law's birthday is next week, so I needed a card for him.  I actually cased this card from Mary Fisher.  She is Stampin' Up Demonstrator as well as a former SCS  Dirty Dozen.  She is currently a Pals Paper Arts Design Team member.  I really, really like her work,
Click here  to view her website.

Here is my card. Outside and Inside views:

Here is my recipe:
Stamps:  Autumn Days, Birthday Bliss
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Paper:  Sweet Pea DSP, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  Earth Elements Button, Twine, punches

I changed a few items, such as the paper and the sentiment.  However, layout design and other stamp selection is hers.

I have to admit, this card looks so much better in person.  I need a better camera for taking pictures up close.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I would appreciate any advice you could give!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Blessings,

Terri

Hello everyone!  Here is my submission for this week's Mojo Challenge 143.

Here is my recipe:
Stamps:  Three Little Words

Ink:  Bordering Blue, So Saffron
I did do a few things slightly different.  But I think it stays true to the idea.

Thanks for stopping by.

Blessings,

Terri

Happy Father's Day!

Hello everyone!  Happy Monday to you.  I have my one and only Father's Day card here for you:
I got the pattern for this card at Amy Celona's website: http://www.ustamp4fun.com  She has another great download on the same page for a shirt with a vest.  Actually I did make two, but I didn't put the shirt collar buttons in the right place, so I can't use it.  Oh well.

Everyone stay cool!

Blessings,

Terri

PPA 46

Happy Friday everyone!  Here is my card for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge #46:

The colors we had to use were Bermuda Bay, So Saffron and Soft Suede.  I didn't have the Bermuda Bay so I substituted with Taken w/Teal.  The stamp set I used was Asian Artistry.

You won't believe this, but Camcao on Splitcoast Stampers used this same stamp set.  I couldn't believe it!  She posted way ahead of me, but, I swear I didn't see hers until after I had made mine!  I wasn't even going to post to SCS until I posted here on my website.  After seeing hers, I went ahead and posted to SCS!  Go figure!  All I could think was.. "Great minds think alike!"

Hope you like this one.  Have a great weekend!

Blessings,

Terri

PJ Inspiration

Hi everyone!  Happy Thursday to you.  I've been making "A" card all day long.  Yeesh!  Does being creative have to be so difficult??  I guess it does for me, oh well.  I'll explain more later.  Here is my inspiration for this card:

Yep, that's right ladies. These are the pajamas I was wearing this morning when the idea hit, lol!  You never know where your inspiration will come from!

This is my card.  I have to confess that this is not exactly where I was going.  I wanted more gray in the card and more fuchsia.  I also went through three different flower stamps until I settled on this one. When I started adding the gray and the fuchsia, it just didn't look right.  I tried using one of the stamp sets that were layered, oh my, that was a disaster.  Then I tried the stamp set Watercolor Trio.  That just wasn't big enough.  When I used this stamp (Fifth Avenue Floral), I thought it was perfect, but not for the colors I wanted.  I think because I used a "pink" background the fuchsia just didn't cut it.  Maybe I'll make another one and see, lol!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Blessings,

Terri

Mojo 142

Hi everyone.  I'm not sure if I am back in the creative swing or not.  This card took me awhile.  We'll see.  Here is my submission for Mojo 142.  Since it has been awhile since I have done a Mojo, I'm going to try to work backwards until I get caught up, (riiiight....)

Paper: Bella Rose DSP, old olive and white card stock.
Stamps:  Water color trio
Accessories:  scallop punch and 1 3/8" circle punch, eyelet border punch, nesties, old olive ribbon and dimensionals (to pop up the cut out rose (from the Bella Rose DSP)

Thanks for stopping by.  Hopefully, my mojo will continue to work!

Blessings,

Terri
